The ratio of the extrusion screw's rotational speed to its take-up speed, which is necessary to maintain a constant outer diameter, is automatically learned with each subsequent operation.
Reducing startup losses simplifies the operation process.

Step-controlled outer diameter control unit DAC-93

Deviation information is input from the laser outer diameter measuring instrument, and A-phase and B-phase pulses are input from the rotary encoder.
Feedback control is possible by setting the distance between the extruder and the outer diameter measuring instrument, and the pulse rate of the rotary encoder.
Features of a Step-Controlled Outer Diameter Control Unit
- This is ideal for sites where the distance between the extruder and the outer diameter measuring instrument is long.
- Step control cancels out the time delay caused by the distance difference between the extruder and the outer diameter measurement point.
- Automatic/manual control can be switched using switches, contacts, or RS232C and RS485 commands.

It is possible to hold the control output voltage when switching from automatic control to manual control.
Furthermore, when switching to manual control, a time constant can be incorporated when short-circuiting the control output voltage, thus preventing sudden loads from being placed on the extruder or take-up machine.
Operating timing

In automatic control mode, the system typically monitors whether the deviation voltage input exceeds the alarm level. If the deviation voltage input exceeds the alarm level, a step voltage (P × deviation input voltage) is added to the control voltage output.
After the DEAD TIME for adding the step voltage has elapsed, monitoring of the deviation voltage input will resume.
